Schooled

  1. I hope you enjoyed the final four chapters. I had a blast reading the book to you – thanks for being such a good audience. I guess what I really liked about the book was the unique way the author Gordon Korman organized the story by making each chapter from a different character’s point of view. The characters were in themselves unique and diverse. My favorite had to be Hugh Winkleman because when ever I saw his name on the new chapter, I started to laugh. I also admired how the author created a story where everything in it was somehow connected to a key part in the book. For instance, the part about Cap being so intrigued by the beauty of Sophie’s bracelet when he saw her dad give it to her. Later on, that turned out to be an important part because it made the reader understand why he was able to recognize the same one in the jewelry store window. Those types of connections occurred throughout the story. I was very surprised by the ending when Rain announces that she sold the Garland Farm. But to stay true to her beliefs she plans to use the money to aid others. The ending also sets itself up for a sequel. I’m sure Gordon Korman could come up with some good stuff with 7 months left of school. Remember your t-shirt so we can make tie dye Navigator team shirts when we get back to school!

I thought that when the people were mourning Cap's death or being in the hospital and Zach Powers was just coming to make a good public image for himself that he came to make himself look good over something he didn't even care about was tremendously cruel to the people who thought he was dead and never coming back. Then when Capricorn came and said he wasn't dead Zach still played along with it made me feel very mad because he didn't care that he was coming and probably liked if Cap was dead.
I don't think that Gordon Korman should have had cap name all the people that were there and just have have a speech or something instead of that.
I think that Rain shouldn't have sold Garland Farms to the realty company and just put Capricorn's life back to normal like being homeschooled and not go back to living with the Donnelly's.

I would give Schooled four out of five stars. The reason I liked it is because I liked how Rain sold Garland Farms so Capricorn would know how to live in the real world if she ever died. The reason I didn't give it five out of five stars is because I like more adventurous books. I like the humor parts of this book also.

I thought that the overall book was good but I didn't like the ending.I thought that more people were going to join Garland like the kids from school. If I had the chance to join Garland I probably would but only for a couple of weeks.

It seemed good that Cap went back to live with the Donnelly's. It was like that was supposed to happen. I really like it when the author finishes with one, meaningful sentence. In other books I have read, the author just keeps going and going on and on and then it doesn't mean what it shuld anymore. That was one of the funniest, greatest books I have ever read (or listened to, that is).

I think that Cap's life changed a lot in the end because now he's rich and he goes to a public school. He now lives in a condo and he won't always need duct tape to fix evrything. I think the book was funny and I liked it a lot.
    Thanks Mr. S.

Through out the book I felt a lot better about Cap. At first I thought about Cap as a hippie who was pretty clueless about life on the other side of Garlen , but over time he really showed an understanding about school and our everyday life. I was interested in the book from start to finish. It is one of the best books I have read so far this year. Thanks for reading this book to us Mr. S.

I think that the book was overall good. I also think that it could be a little bit better in the beginning, but the end was very good.I felt happy at the end when Cap went back to his own school. I liked when rain sold the house to teach cap how to live if Rain died. If the author made a sequil I would read it in a heartbeat.

I enjoyed the book, but the ending wasn’t as good as I expected. I think that Rain could keep a part of garland farms, and keep some to live there. I didn't like the part when Hue and Zack played the prank on Cap. If there ends up being a second book I will totally read it!!!!
Thanks for reading us such a good book!

  10. Cameron: I tend to think of myself as a nonconformist and sometimes feel like an outsider so I really liked Capricorn. I liked his way of just being true to himself and not letting other people faze him at all. How unkind the kids were seemed a little extreme but it did sum up the mean of Middle School. When Cap was confused about things like spit balls, or TV, I thought it was funny how he created theories that were completely off the wall. I thought the ending was sweet because Rain was right. Cap would have no survival skills and she is doing more good with the money than she ever could at Garland.

I think that Cap changed a lot from the beginning of the book to the end. Like how he use to be completely clueless about anything or anybody that wasn't from the 60's and now he knows about banks, check and 1,100 people.

Overall I think the book was very good. I thought the beginning was ok but I thought the end was very good. I thought Cap changed a lot from the beginning to the end like in the beginning when he was cluless and every one hated him to now when everybody loves him.

I think that schooled was a very fascinating book. A lot of the things that were said about c average middle school also seemed true about ORMS. Too me, cap started out knowing pretty much nothing about anything outside what Rain taught him. At the end, he turned out liking living in modern civilization.
I didn't like the fact that Rain sold Garlen Farms. I understand why, but I think that she could have done a lot of the things she planned to do after selling Garlen Farms while still owning it, even though money might have become an issue.
I think that one of the lessons in this book is that even one person about as old as we are can change the lives of thousands of people just by sticking up for what you believe in.

I thought that "Schooled" was ... Awesome!!!
The book almost always had some thing new to throw at you! Most of it kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. I liked watching Cap change from being completely clueless to knowing every name of everyone in C Average middle school. I'd never heard of Gordon Korman before now but since we read "Schooled" I'll definitely look in to this
author to find another interesting book.

I think that Schooled was awesome, but I got a little confused at the end. I wasn't sure if it was going to be a happy ending or a sad ending. I'm guessing it turned out happy but I 'm not sure.

I think it's funny how Cap goes from being cluless to knowing the name of everyone in the school. I think it shows that if you try hard enough you can do what ever you want.

I think that the book was great. I think it was great because it had a lot of detail and excitment. Like when he drove the bus to the hospitial and when he didn't just say trigonometry in tears he described what it was and didn't just drop it and then move on.

I thought the book was very good and I also liked that it was from a different person's perspective each chapter. I also liked the ending where they sold Garland Farm for 17 million dollars and they got a new Mercedes, a condo and got to go back to C Average Middle School.

Schooled is a very good well written book.
I think that was a very Humorous, Fun, and interesting book to listen to. It has many good morals and I think that many people could relate to this book.
There was never a non- exciting part in it. Gordon Korman has done a great job and I hope to continue reading his books.
One of my favorite parts in the book is the "funeral" for Cap. I like how everyone is so grateful and loving of Cap when they recite there individual speeches.

The end of Schooled really got me by surprise. I had no clue that Rain would ever do such a thing, but it was very knowledgeable of her to do what she did. I think an ending like that is the kind of change a book should have. It mixes things up and makes it more interesting.

I sort of predicted that Rain would let Cap go back to "C average". Because why would Cap make a big relationship with the school, leave, come back again to say goodbye, and then just not stay at the school. People who read the book would be disappointed.

I think that Schooled was a wonderful book and I thoroughly enjoy it. I hope that Gordon Korman will continue to write such good books.

I thought this book was good but the ending was a big surpise. I would never have thought that Cap would go back to the Donnelly's house and live there. I also thought that it was good that Cap did go back to school because he had a lot of friends there, he and didn't have that many friends at home. I was shocked when Cap sad all the names in the entire school and didn't mess-up once. Thanks for reading the book to us. I thought it was really funny!

The book was awesome! But the ending was OK. I thought there was excitement throughout the whole book and every page led up to something more. If there is a second book I'd love to read it.

I really liked how they started the book with Cap getting in trouble with the police by driving Rain to the hospital, when he didn’t have a license. I like how they tied it back to the end, by driving Mr. R. to the hospital with the school bus. I thought it was pretty ironic, when Zach kept framing Derryl by making him be the first to tackle Cap, and then once Cap came back, Derryl hit Cap in the nose.

I thought that Schooled was a great book. I love the begining because it has a great lead and it gets you hooked.
I don't think Rain should have sold Garland. She should have let Cap stay at the Donnely's and kept Garland in case Cap wants to go back.
    Overall i give it 4 1/2 stars.

I thought that schooled was a great book! Schooled had great hooks and is one of my favorite books. I like how the book made it sound like Cap was going to be the number one target to be picked on but then became a school hero and got everyone talking to him. I also like how it was a huge thing for the Claverage middle school when Cap left and that they had a memorial because they thought he was dead. The enidng did surprise me though but I like that he gets to go back to the same school again.

There were some things we would have changed in the end but over all it was a good book. Cap realy learned new things since the beging of the book, and we also liked how it was at different peoples perspective. We thought the book was very exciting from everyones point of view!

Mr. Silvareo it was a great book!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was very surprising at the end when Cap saw the Mercedes drive up,And this woman stepped out because I was not expecting it to be Rain. It was like she got a complete make over!
I thought Schooled was a great book it had lots of surprises through out the book. I am very happy that Cap got to go back to C average with all of his friends.

I thought that book was really good!! It certainly very funny and well writen. I liked the end when Cap got to go back with all his friends. I must say I did not expec Rain to finally move out of the 60's and back into the 21 century but at least she's going to give some of that money to cheroty

Overall I found Schooled very interesting. I liked Gordan Kormans style of writing with the switching perspectives from chapter to chapter. I don't think Hugh Winkleman should have been angry at cap. It wasn't his fault that everyone mobbed him. If Hugh had just tried to talk to Cap about it, it would have saved the him a lot of medical bills.

I liked the ending but i think that Rain should of kept garland and try to get other people to come Cap could of still lived there but gone to c-average, he would have a school and friends to hang out with, but when he came back his life would be back to normal.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I must say it was one of the best book I have ever read (or heard in this case). I liked how the author make the book cange so much with every page. Like in the beginning I thought that the entire book was going to be about life in Garland, but boy was I wrong! I think the big turning point in this book was when Cap drone the bus to the hospital AND saved the bus driver’s life.
I think that there are actual people that lead a life like Rain and Cap; not wanting to associate with the economy. I also think that Gordon Korman was trying to say that these people are leading lives that could cause the amount of poverty to decrease, if many people did this. And finally, to conclude my comment, I want to say that I think we should look at Rain and Capercorn Anderson as our examples.

I thought that "schooled" was a very good funny book but if I had written it I would have chaged the ending because I think it would have been better if capricorn and rain stayed in Garland and some of the kids from C Average should have joined them.

I really would rate this book on a five star because it was really funny. If there is a sequel I would definetely LOVE to read it.
I like how when Cap first came to the school he didnt know anyone! But he wanted to learn everyones name so he set his heart on what he wanted to do and WENT for what he WANTED to do.
I also think that Rain should of kept Garland Farms. Even though it was a good decision to get the 17 million dollars and for Cap to go live with Donnelies.
This overall book was wonderful. Thank you Mr.Silverio for reading this book to us.

I give the book a 10/10. I think one of my favorite parts was when he first got there. He didn't know how anything worked, and when he was elected he seemed to have to know everyone's name.

One thing that I would have maybe changed was if he still had one name to learn when he left so it was bugging hm all the time.... until he found out he was going back to C average. Thanks for reading to us, Mr. Silverio!!!!

My dad started listening at the 30th chapter and he already knew he loved the book!
i loved Gordon Kormans use of more than one persons perspective! i just love books like that! i really hope Gordon decides to make a sequel!

Schooled is one of the funniest and exciting book i have ever read. my favorite part was probably when Mr. cassigy found out he had to pay a bunch of bills. If they do make a sequel to Schooled I would like to find out what happens to Cap when Mr. cassigy finds him.

I think Schooled was funny, exciting, and very unique! I think the best part of story as when Cap sent the bracelet in the mail to Sophie and Sophie thought that it as her dad but it was really Cap. If there is a sequel to Schooled I would definetly read it!!
Thanks Mr.S for reading Schooled to us!

I think schooled was an pretty good book. I'd give it a 4 star rating. I think there should have been more time in when Cap was in the school.
When Cap was saying "Violence is not the answer" I don't think he should have been punched by Darrel. He had already gone through enough pain for one day. I liked how Gordon Korman changed the perspective of the person every chapter. I also liked when Sophie dumped the water on Cap's head. But personally, I'd use something more effective like ten gallons of milk.
During the memorial service when Cap named all of the students in the school I think the author should have skipped more of the names. At first when the Mercedes Benz pulled into the driveway I thought Sophie Donnely got a car and she came to show it to him. When I figured out about Rain selling Garland I thought she was joking. Then when she was explaining to him why, I thought it was logical but not a good ending. Then when she told him he was going to Claverage (C-average) Middle School I thought that was a perfect ending.

I thought Schooled was a great book!!! Thank you Mr.S for reading it to us. My favorite part was when Cap went out and spent all the school's money on charity, that was so funny! I think Cap should get a serious haircut because it fits in with the present time.

I think this book was really good. I liked the ending. Cap changed alot though the book from how he loved Garland to wanting to go back and then wanting to go back to the real world. I think he will like being able to earn money so he can buy so many things with his own money instead of school funds.

That was a really great book and my 7th grade brother is going to read it. I reall y enjoyed the way the story went. Cap is a great character and so is sophie. The ending was a little odd. I really hope Gordan Korman writes a sequil. I love this book.

I thought the book was very interning would give the book 4 stars. The beginning was kinda slow but I don’t agree with Adele and loved the fact that cap and rain finally got a life!
    Just kidding.
My favorite part in the book was when zack and Hugh pulled that prank on cap with the foot ball thing
I also liked how every body thought that cap was really dead I thought that was unrealistic and hilarious
my favorite character was liana she was popular but totally nice. When I think of some one whom is popular I think of mean prissy thinking about boys and them selves but liana totally defied that I loved that.
I agree with Sedona if there was another 1 I would so read it.
I agree with step to that cap should go back to school.
And Deana every body knows you like duck tape
I think in the next book cap and Naomi should get married every body moved to Togo all but Mr. Kasigy and the book should be called Mr. Kasogi’s world trip to find the world! I would love it
